Researchers from University College London and other institutions found that participants who listened to classical music while eating tended to select less fatty foods and consume fewer calories.

In contrast, those who listened to genres like jazz, rap, or rock were more likely to opt for unhealthy, high-calorie junk foods.

The study, published in the journal Brain Topography, supports previous findings that calming music can reduce appetite, while fast-paced music may increase it.

Researchers believe that the slow tempo and soothing nature of classical music decrease activity in brain regions associated with hunger, leading to reduced food intake.

This research highlights a potential link between auditory environments and eating behaviors, suggesting that incorporating calming music during meals could be a simple strategy to promote healthier eating habits
