When you’re trying to manage your sugar levels, what you drink is just as important as what you eat.

Different drinks have different sugar reactions. Some drinks have an immediate effect while others have a slower or more moderate effect.

For example, milk slows down the rise in blood sugar levels, while other beverages, such as water, do not affect sugar at all.

Below we look at four drinks that can help you control your blood sugar.

The Water:

Water keeps you hydrated without giving you energy in the form of sugar, which doesn’t spike sugar levels because water is sugar-free.

Green Tea:

Green tea already has many health benefits, and recent research suggests that it may also have beneficial effects on your blood sugar.

Cow’s Milk:

There is also strong evidence that the protein in cow’s milk can play a key role in lowering blood sugar in people with or without diabetes.

Coffee: An analysis of six studies found that taking coffee extract as a supplement was associated with lower fasting sugar levels. An analysis of 10 studies found similar results.
